Papa Gino's Training
As Papa Gino's continues to grow, we need well-trained, results-oriented, success-minded people to fill the increasing number of new management positions.
The overall goal of the Management Development Program is to provide management candidates with enough information, experience and practice to become a successful manager capable of supervising restaurant operations.
The Management Development Program is designed so that the learner controls the pace of their learning within specific areas. The entry-level program is five weeks in length, and each candidate should complete this program in the Training Restaurant regardless of hiring status or anticipated placement after training. The program allows enough flexibility to adjust the schedule and other requirements to fit specific learner needs and operations. The Training General Manager (TGM) will provide the learning environment and test each individual when they feel they are ready to be tested in any given learning area. The TGM will assist each learner in setting objectives and evaluate the performance on a regular basis. Both the learner and their TGM will communicate with the Training Department concerning the progress and performance.
The approach we employ at Papa Gino's combines elements of a self-paced program with achievable time guidelines. This approach allows the training process to be individualized to meet each learner's specific need. We believe the learner is the best judge of the pace and emphasis of the instruction. Within each learning area, their experience and motivation will help determine how much time they will spend on a particular topic. However, our expectation is that newly hired management candidates will be able to accomplish the basic performance criteria within a five-week timeframe. The learner's role then, is to complete the program at a pace that guarantees you are being exposed to all details of the business and learning what you need to know to supervise a restaurant.
At the conclusion of the five-week program, an Individual Management Development Skill Certification and Planning Guide will be completed. Based on the skill level of the individual, a 60-day plan will be drawn up. This plan, which is designed by the learner and their TGM, will be reviewed with the General Manager of the restaurant the learner will be placed in, so as to insure a continuity of the learning process and an alignment of responsibilities in accordance with the next level of responsibility.
The training does not end there. You will be supported by a variety of training program seminars that will help you meet the demands of increasing responsibility. Papa Gino's programs are designed to assist you in the areas of leadership and restaurant financials, along with recruiting, interviewing and selecting hourly team members. We also offer courses in CPR and Sanitation certification. Every effort has been made to make our training the best in the industry. As the needs of our management change, so do the courses offered.
